First of all you can download FTP client software like cuteFTP, Ipswitch FTP or you can buy Ipswitch FTP.
The below example of FTP is given on Ipswitch FTP software. Now install the Ipswitch FTP software on your computer.
Requirement to connect your FTP Server
You need the information hostname or website name, username and password.
How to make connection using Ipswtich FTP
Open the Ipswtch FTP software and click on “connect” button after it choose “connection wizard”. It will ask for hostname, username and password. You can see another window, now type site name and then click on next button.
Now type a server name or hostname or FTP server name and click on next button.
In window type user name and password and click on next button.
Next screen will ask for connection type like FTP or SFTP.
Next screen will ask to connect to ftp site and close the connection wizard.
You can select the files and click on download button to take backup of your website.
